At 81 years old, Martha Stewart is now the oldest model to ever grace the cover of Sports Illustrated's annual swimsuit issue.
Along with Megan Fox, musician Kim Petras, and model Brooks Nader, the businesswoman and presenter was picked as one of four cover models for the publication.
In the Dominican Republic, Ms. Stewart was pictured wearing a variety of bathing costumes.
She expressed her desire to empower other women to the magazine and expressed her joy at being featured on the cover.
She admitted that she did not give her age much concern, but that she should look her best because the event was rather significant.
"When you are done changing, you are done," has always been my mantra, so I reasoned, "Why not be up for this opportunity of a lifetime?" On Instagram, she posted.
No matter what stage of life you are in, I hope this cover encourages you to challenge yourself and attempt new things. Being courageous, adapting, and changing are all highly positive traits.
Ms. Stewart founded a catering company in the 1970s, and in the 1990s, she launched her own magazine, Martha Stewart Living, and shot to prominence. She eventually became a billionaire thanks to her media empire.
In 2004, she was found guilty of several offenses connected to an insider trading fraud, and she was given a five-month prison sentence.
Since then, she has made an effort to reestablish her image by collaborating with rapper and friend Snoop Dogg for a television series in 2016, extending her line of culinary goods, and appearing in her own reality television show.
The oldest person to appear on the cover before the famous chef was Elon Musk's mother Maye Musk, who was 74 years old.
