আহিন আৰু কাতি মাহৰ সংক্ৰান্তিৰ দিনা কাতি বিহু এদিনীয়াকৈ পালন কৰা হয়। এই সময়চোৱা অসমৰ কৃষিজীৱি সমাজৰ অনাটনৰ সময়। অধিকাংশ কৃষকৰে ভঁৰালত ধানমুঠি নোহোৱা হয়। বাৰীত শাক-পাচলিবো নাটনিৰ দিন। সেয়েহে এই বিহুক কঙালী বিহু বোলে। এই সময়তে পথাৰৰ ধান শস্য-সম্ভৱা হৈ পৰে। কাতি বিহুৰ দিনা ভঁৰাল, পথাৰ সকলোতে চাকি জ্বলাই ধান মুঠিৰ অধিক উৎপাদন কামনা কৰে। পথাৰত চাকি জ্বলোৱাৰ এক বিজ্ঞানসন্মত কাৰণ আছে। আহিন-কাতি মাহত চৰহা পোক বৰ বেছি হয়। পথাৰ, ঘৰে ঘৰে চাকি জ্বলোৱাৰ ফলত ৰাতি প্রজ্বলিত চাকিব শিখাত পৰি কিছু হ’লৈও চৰহা পোকৰ মৃত্যু হৈ কৃষকক ৰক্ষা কৰে। সংক্ৰান্তিৰ দিনা প্রতিঘৰ অসমীয়া মানুহৰ ঘৰতে চোতালত তুলসীৰ ভেটি সাজি তুলসী বোৱে আৰু গধুলি সৰু সৰু ল'ৰা ছোৱালীবোৰে প্ৰসাদ আগবঢ়াই প্রার্থনা জনায়। এয়া বিভিন্ন ঔষধি গুণেৰে পৰিপুষ্ট তুলসী গছ একোজোপা প্রতি ঘৰ মানুহৰ ঘৰত ৰোপন কৰাৰ এক দূৰদৰ্শী সংস্কৃতিপূর্ণ ব্যৱস্থা।

কাতিৰ কঙালৰ লখিমী তুমি,
শাওনৰ আশাৰ আঘোণ তুমি,
তুলসীৰ তলে মৃগ পহু চৰে,
তাকে দেখি ৰামচন্দ্ৰই হৰ ধনু ধৰে।
আপোনাৰ লগতে আপোনাৰ পৰিয়ালৰ সকলোলৈকে কঙালী বিহুৰ আন্তৰিক শুভকামনা জনালোঁ।

About Kati Bihu
Kati Bihu, also known as Kongali Bihu, is a harvest festival celebrated in the Indian state of Assam. It is the second of the three Bihu festivals celebrated in Assam, the other two being Rongali Bihu and Bhogali Bihu. Kati Bihu is celebrated on the first day of the month of Kati in the Assamese calendar, which usually falls in the month of October.
