The recently made Raimona National Park of Assam is situated in the Gossaigaon region of the Kokrajhar locale inside the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) across the boundary with Bhutan. It was proclaimed as the sixth National Park of Assam on fifth June 2021 on the event of World Environment Day by the Assam Government. The space of the Raimona National Park incorporates the northern piece of the Ripu Reserve Forest which abuts the western-generally cushion to the Manas National Park (otherwise called the Manas Tiger Reserve). The complete space of the National Park is 422 sq. km.
The Raimona National Park is limited by the Saralbhanga stream on the east, the Pekua waterway on the south and the Sonkosh waterway on the west. Both the streams the Saralbhanga and the Sonkosh are feeders of the waterway Brahmaputra.
The Raimona Becomes Assam's Sixth National Park
The National Park imparts limit to the Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park and Phipsoo Wildlife Sanctuary of Bhutan which covers a protection space of more than 2400 sq. km. of bordering patches of rich green woods.
