Importance of Kojagari Purnima 2020
People in different parts of the country celebrate the festival of Kojagari Purnima according to their own beliefs and traditions. Worshiping on this date in the middle of the night or Nishith Kaal gives the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. It is believed that on the night of Sharad Purnima, the moon is completed with its 16 phases and on this night there is rain of nectar from the sky. Goddess Lakshmi roams the earth on the night of Kojagari Purnima and blesses her devotees with wealth and happiness. According to religious beliefs, on the night of Kojagari Purnima or Sharad Purnima, when Goddess Lakshmi walks on the earth, she utters the word 'Jagrati'. It means who is awake. She sees who on earth is awake at night. Those who worship Mata Lakshmi with full devotion, Maa Lakshmi definitely goes to her house.
Kojagari Purnima 2020 Puja Vidhi method of worship
The idol of Goddess Lakshmi made of brass, silver, copper or gold is worshiped by covering it with a cloth on the full moon day. After worshiping the goddess in the morning, it is done again at night after moonrise. On this day after 9 o'clock in the night, after making kheer in a silver vessel, it should be kept under the sky as soon as the moon comes out. After this, light a lamp of ghee in front of the goddess at night. After this, the mantra, aarti and duly worship of the goddess should be done. After some time, after offering Kheer kept in the light of the moon to Goddess Lakshmi, one should donate it to Brahmins as prasad. Goddess Lakshmi should be worshiped on the next day and the fast should be broken.
